Ecological Surveys

Ecological surveys are an in-depth study of an ecosystem to gather specific data, often about the general health of the ecosystem.  They are a valuable tool for understanding natural areas and their values.  We carry out ecological surveys for;

  • indigenous and exotic plant inventories
  • vegetation mapping
  • fauna surveys
  • investigations into the cultural and social values of the site (including CHI (Cultural Health Index) Assessments)
  • an assessment of the ecological significance and biodiversity values of the area
  • potential ecological effects
  • recommended mitigation techniques

We can tailor our surveys to suit client requirements and also often use Helmut Janssen’s Bush Vitality Assessment technique.
